Saudi resident dies from novel coronavirus infection
Following the report yesterday of the death of a UK resident who died from complication from novel coronavirus (NCoV) infection, a Saudi Arabia resident perished from the virus, according to a World Health Organization (WHO) Global Alert and Response Feb. 21.
According to the release, the patient was hospitalized on 29 January 2013 and died on 10 February 2013. The case was laboratory-confirmed on 18 February 2013. Further investigation into this case is ongoing.
To date, WHO has been informed of a total of 13 confirmed cases of human infection with NCoV, including seven deaths.
This is the sixth case and fourth fatality in the kingdom.
