Leonard Nimoy tribute in ‘The Big Bang Theory’ in Chuck Lorre Vanity card
The late Leonard Nimoy made a voice-over appearance on CBS’ The Big Bang Theory three years ago and the show’s brainiac Chuck Lorre paid homage to the deceased Sci-Fi icon with his episodic vanity card.
At the conclusion of the recent show, a picture of Nimoy appeared, with the caption “The impact you had on our show and on our lives is everlasting.”
From the Big Bang archives, fans will forever remember the episode where Penny (Kaley Cuoco) bought Sheldon (Jim Parsons) and Leonard (Johnny Galecki) a pair of Star Trek keepsake collectibles.
Titled “The Transporter Malfunction,” Sheldon breaks his while playing with it and attempts switch his toy with Leonard’s, Sheldon’s conscience, voiced by Nimoy as “Tiny Spock,” nags him until he sets things right.
Additionally, Spock will forever be included in Sheldon’s version of “Rock, Paper, Scissors” – modified to be a “quinessential game of” “Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock.”
Lorre’s messages at the end of each episode are a treat for fans and the sentiment cemented even a few more.
