Liam Neeson to be framed for murder in ‘Taken 3’
20th Century Fox has been pretty quient about Taken 3, the final film in the series, with Olivier Megaton returning to direct Liam Neeson, Maggie Grace, Famke Janssen with newcomers Forest Whitaker and Dougray Scott. A new report has not been confirmed but provides some interesting insight into the possible story for the film.
According to Manly Movie. “Brian Mills will get framed for murder,” it says in the site. “Pursued by police, Bryan rendezvous’ with his daughter, Maggie, in the women’s restroom during her class at UCLA. The police discover his whereabouts and attempt to apprehend him at the university. Bryan sets off a flash grenade in a classroom, setting off the school’s fire sprinkler system, creating havoc and allowing his escape.”
This aligns with comments made by Luc Besson on the film: “It’s different, but it’s very good. It’s probably the best of the three for me, in terms of the script. The first one was really not pretentious. It was a small film. We were surprised by the success of it because it was honest. Liam [Neeson] was not a super kick-ass actor.”
Besson explained to Collider. “[‘Taken 3’] is shooting right now. Taken 1 and 2 is, in fact, the same film in two parts.
“The first act, someone is taken, and the second act is that revenge. You can see the films back to back and they go together. The third film is another story that has nothing to do with him and his family. No one is taken. The dog is not taken. It’s another story with the same characters.”
Filming for Taken 3 started March in Los Angeles. In April, some location shots were taken at Covington, Georgia. In July, the production cast and crew were reportedly filming in Murcia, Spain.
Taken 3 will also star Jon Gries, Leland Orser, and Jonny Weston.
The Taken franchise has earned over $600 million worldwide and Neeson is set to make $20 million for the new film.
Taken 3 release date is set for January 9, 2015
[…] “I have to go on the run, I’ll put it that way, from the not-so-lawful types and the lawful authorities. Bryan Mills served his country faithfully, but now even they are after him. They must not like me,” Neeson says of the new film and circumstances his character, confirming some earlier rumors. […]
