Josh Hutcherson’s Peeta takes center stage in new ‘Hunger Games Mockingjay’ TV spot

the-hunger-games-catching-fire-donald-sutherlandFans get another peek at The Hunger Games: Mockingjay part 1 as Josh Hutcherson’s Peeta sends out a message to his 74th Hugner Games victor and those defying The Captol in a new TV spot.

At the end of Catching Fire, President Snow (Donald Sutherland) had snatched Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) out of the arena with big plans for the Boy with the Bread. Meanwhile,  Alma Coin (Julianne Moore) and Plutarch Heavensbee (Philip Seymour Hoffman) are busy prepping Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) to lead the rebellion, Snow is using Peeta to destroy it.

The final novel in the Suzanne Collins’s trilogy is divided into two movies. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part I opens this November 21st, then the fourth film finishes off the story one year later in theaters.

The new film also stars Sam Claflin, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Jeffrey Wright, Stanley Tucci, Jena Malone, Toby Jones, Willow Shields, and Liam Hemsworth with Game of Thrones star Natalie Dormer as Cressida.

Here’s the official synopsis for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1:

The worldwide phenomenon of The Hunger Games continues to set the world on fire with The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1, which finds Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) in District 13 after she literally shatters the games forever. Under the leadership of President Coin (Julianne Moore) and the advice of her trusted friends, Katniss spreads her wings as she fights to save Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) and a nation moved by her courage.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 is directed by Francis Lawrence from a screenplay by Danny Strong and Peter Craig and produced by Nina Jacobson’s Color Force in tandem with producer Jon Kilik. The novel on which the film is based is the third in a trilogy written by Suzanne Collins that has over 65 million copies in print in the U.S. alone.
