Director Edgar Wright confirms Ultron is not part of ‘Ant-Man’
Ant-Man director Edgar Wright has confirmed that the villain Ultron will not appear in the film.
Protagonist Hank Pym had a hand in creating the character in the Marvel Comics source material, but the Hot Fuzz filmmaker has suggested that there is no mention of this in his screenplay.
“I cannot really get into that, but umm… I’ll say no. No he wasn’t,” said Wright when asked by Science Fiction if Ultron was ever a part of his Ant-Man storyline.
The story of Ant-Man is “Biochemist Dr. Hank Pym uses his latest discovery, a group of subatomic particles, to create a size-altering formula. Though his first self-test goes awry, he develops an instrument that helps him communicate with and control insects.” – IMDB
Pym goes on to create the Ultron creature, which battles the Avengers regularly throughout the series.
Casting and news for the production seems to be coming soon to meet the release dates.
Avengers: Age of Ultron has been confirmed as the follow-up to last year’s Marvel Studios superhero team-up movie.
Avengers: Age of Ultron will arrive in cinemas on May 1, 2015 with Ant-Man following on November 6, 2015.
