‘Captain America Winter Soldier’ adds villain with Frank Grillo as Crossbones
The Captain America sequel won’t start production until the Spring, but news continues to excite fans.
Variety reports that Frank Gillo will join the cast as Crossbones, famed Marvel villain and henchman of the Red Skull.
Grillo, star of 2011’s “The Grey” alongside Liam Neeson and “Warrior” with Joel Edgerton and Tom Hardy.
The most likely tie-in to the film comes from the Civil War storyline:
While being led from Federal Courthouse, Captain America was shot in the shoulder by Crossbones, who was taking orders from Red Skull. Crossbones tries to escape in a helicopter but was tracked by Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Winter Soldier then beat Crossbones into unconsciousness, while Crossbones simply laughed in his face. Falcon then turned Crossbones over to SHIELD custody. (Wikipedia)
