‘Birdman’ star Michael Keaton to join ‘Kong Skull Island’
The rumors continue to swirl that Michael Keaton will be joining the cast of Kong: Skull Island, a King Kong reboot starring Tom Hiddleston.
Deadline reported it first, “Michael Keaton is finalizing a deal to join the cast of Legendary Pictures’ Kong: Skull Island. He will join the previously announced Tom Hiddleston (Thor) and JK Simmons (Whiplash).”
The CP summarized in their Jan. 12 coverage that “Reports also claimed that the story will center on a team of explorers that planned to venture deep inside the primordial island of King Kong’s home. It hasn’t been confirmed if Keaton, Hiddleston or Simmons will be part of the rumored team.”
Keaton is receiving a ton of praise for his role in Birdman and may garner serious Oscar consideration.
“Jordan Vogt-Roberts directs from a script written by John Gatins and Max Borenstein, Legendary’s Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni will produce with Alex Garcia, and Eric McLeod is executive producing,” Deadline compiled.
Kong: Skull Island will arrive in 3D and IMAX 3D on March 10, 2017.
