June 8th, 2015 – A woman wins $71,000 by playing e-bingo

According to recent reports, a customer at the Roosevelt Bar situated in Eveleth won $71,054 by playing a bingo game electronically, which was the largest ever for the charitable e-bingo business that was started in Minnesota. This staggering amount was won by a regular customer who was busy playing the Voodoo Guru game with her husband on a bar’s iPad, as per records by the owner of the bar, Margie Koivunen. She suddenly shouted and screamed “I got it, I got it”. The money will reach her account on Wednesday, the 10th of June as the mentioned bar will host an event where the game organizers will hand over the check to her.

Roosevelt and Koivunen were among the initial back of bars and restaurants that started off with charitable e-gaming. They say that this has become a fun form of entertainment where people enjoy playing such games and winning money. Only after their initial sales fell short, these games started being considered as infamous but only they were seen as a major source of funding for the new Vikings stadium, the linked e-bingo and electronic pulltabs started getting famous.

As per the Minnesota Gambling Control Board, sales have increased this year (2015). In fact, the state saw $5 in gross sales for the month of May, 2015, which was up from $1.2 million in July, 2014. Sales of all the charitable or non-profit gaming for Minnesota, including the highest grossing game are running about 10% of the last financial year.

The state witnessed over $1.2 billion in gross sales for the financial year 2014 and the present financial year already saw sales of about $1.2 billion. This proves that bingo has been constantly bolstering up the economic development of various states and contributing to fiscal improvement.
