‘Batman vs Superman’ seeking Bryan Cranston as Lex Luthor, $50M to get Christian Bale
Rumors are abound for Warner Bros recently announced sequel to Man of Steel. Tentatively titled Batman vs Superman, the WB is rumored to offered Christian Bale $50 million to join the film and Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston speaks out on the Lex Luthor rumors.
After his “give me a call” comment regarding the role as the mastermind, Cranston tells Metro US about his feelings on Luthor.
“I like Lex Luthor,” continues Cranston. “I think he’s misunderstood. He’s a loveable, sweet man.”
Cranston confessed that his wife may not be too happy about the role.
“She wasn’t so keen on the bald head,” Cranston admits. “The bald head ages a man. It’s just that she didn’t know me that way.”
“The last six years it’s all of a sudden like sleeping with a stranger — who was less exciting than her own husband. So I don’t blame her for being upset.”
Bale’s return as the Cape Crusader may come at a hefty price, but the rumors continue to build. As EW reports: “The recent online buzz erupted after the London Sun reported that “Bale is facing extraordinary pressure” to return to the character for a huge payday. The Sun‘s sources, however, aren’t exactly Warner Bros. insiders or members of Bale’s inner circle.”
The EW details how there is no specific offer and Bale still has even hinted at the role.
