6 arrested for vandalizing ex-NFL player Brian Holloway’s vacation home
Six people were arrested for vandalizing Brian Holloway, a former NFL player’s vacation home, located near the Massachusetts border in Stephentown. The arrests were made on Thursday morning after the former New England Patriots and Los Angeles Raiders offensive lineman Brian Holloway authorized the sheriff to bring charges in the Labor Day weekend party case that was attended by 300 teenagers.
The officials said that the party was led by Seth Hawk, a 19-year-old homeless man and a troubled youth whom Holloway had taken into his family. He organized the party and provided alcohol. The teens raided the vacation home and caused at least $20,000 in damage, which included broken windows and holes in the walls.
Holloway who had found the pictures of the party on several social networking sites reposted them on his website in an attempt to get the teens to come forward. However, his action infuriated parents, who threatened Holloway with a lawsuit.
“I tried to be as accommodating as I could, but they took their stand by not showing up,” Holloway said.
WRGB reports that the six — four teenagers and two men in their twenties — turned themselves in at Stephentown Town Court, while more arrests are expected.
Sgt. Shane Holcomb of the Rensselaer Sheriff’s Office told WRGB, “We are asking for the cooperation of anyone who was at the party, and their parents.” He said the act of coming forward would “definitely” favorably affect their case.
Commenting on Hawk’s involvement, Holloway said that, “it was a shocker.”
