Viral Video: Connecticut shooting caught on tape, police searching for suspect
On Wednesday, Waterbury police have released surveillance video of a shooting that happened on Friday afternoon. They are asking the public for help in identifying the shooter.
Waterbury police say that on November 27, just after 3 p.m., they were called to 352 Walnut Street for a report of a shooting.
Surveillance video that captured the shooting shows a group of people standing outside of a building, next to a car with a person in the passenger seat. Police identified the suspect seen in the video as a male wearing a black hoodie and black Adidas pants.
A brief argument ensues and the man pulls a pistol from his waistband, then fires two shots, hitting the man in the leg. Witnesses to the shooting appeared to treat the incident casually as they stood around. Two men can be seen kicking spent bullet casings into a nearby sewer.
The man who was hit is expected to survive his injuries.
Police noted in the video that a few of the witnesses are seen kicking shell casings into the sewer. The video ends with at least two of the witnesses getting into the waiting car.
Police are searching for the man and anyone with information about his identity or whereabouts can call detectives at 203-574-6941.
