Polk County Sheriff seeking Taiwan Blandin for Frostproof murder case
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office is reaching out to the public to locate an armed and dangerous suspect named Taiwan Blandin, wanted in a Tuesday morning homicide in Frostproof, Florida.
According to Sheriff Grady Judd, Blandin, 30, has threatened to commit suicide or suicide by cop.
“We’re prepared for that eventuality,” Judd said. “If it happens, we hope that he thinks better of it and peacefully surrenders when we find him.”
Details have not been confirmed at this point, but it appears the Blandin case is connected to to an altercation earlier Tuesday in Fort Meade where someone was shot in the foot.
Judd said investigators at the Fort Meade crime scene were receiving a great deal of cooperation from area residents.
The Sheriff could not identify the exact address of the homicide or the identity of the person killed citing of Marsy’s Law, a law that prohibits authorities from the disclosure of victim’s names and addresses.
Blandin was last seen driving a 2011 dark red Chevy Cruz with Florida tag NAG K37 and tinted windows. He is 6 feet tall and 190 pounds.
Anyone who sees Blandin or the vehicle is asked not to approach but to call 911 immediately.
“We want you to cautiously observe today, if you see this vehicle or you see Taiwan … do not approach him … call us,” Judd said.
