Michael Fassbender talks ‘Days of Future Past’ Magneto, the helmet, Professor X
Michael Fassbender is back with the all-star cast from X-Men: First Class and joined by the cast from the first X-Men trilogy. The Prometheus star discussed his role as Magneto in this new film: X-Men: Days of Future Past.
Talking to BANG Showbiz at the film’s premiere in London’s Leicester Square Fassbender said: ”In this film he is Magneto. He is much more singular in his beliefs and methods. He’s much more Machiavellian.”
Professor X and Magneto are the best of friends and worst of enemies and now, decades of mutant annihilation forces the pair to partner against a common foe.
”I just love the character. There is so much history in the character before I have arrived in his shoes. There’s so much to play with, he’s very complex. I love the relationship he has with Professor X.”
Fans may notice some changes in the costume as well.
“I can see more out of this [helmet]. I just love the character,” he told Cover Media. “There’s so much history in the character and so much has happened before I arrived in his shoes so there’s so much to play with. He’s very complex, I love the relationship he has with Professor X.”
