Manuela Morgado, mother who killed son, threatened ex-husband and his wife
The Mamaroneck, New York mother was charged with second degree murder in connection with her son’s death, appeared in village court last week.
It was revealed that Manuela Morgado had allegedly sent threatening letters to both the boy’s father, Dr. Tim Reish and his former wife, Erin Reish. Morgado had to agree to not contact the boy’s father for any reason.
“There will be no texts, phone calls, social media…no communication with the individuals,” explained Judge Derrico.
Morgado’s 4-year-old-son, Jason, was found dead along with his semi conscious mother on Monday, October 1 in Morgado’s Mamaroneck condo in attempted murder-suicide.
Morgado and Tim had been engaged in a custody battle over where Jason would attend preschool. Tim has two other children with Erin Taylor Reish, whom he married in Ohio in 1996. Their kids attend Briarcliff Middle School. Tim currently resides in Briarcliff Manor with his two children with Erin.
The woman is expected to undergo a mental health evaluation by Correct Care Solutions, part of the Westchester County Department of Corrections.
“Ms. Morgado is very upset at this time as you can imagine… she grieves for the loss of her child, the loss of her world,” her lawyer told the press.
