Manny Pacquiao seeks committee chairmanships days after reports of ‘poor attendance’
Just days after the 15th Congress of the Philippines reported Sarangani Representative, Manny Pacquiao’s dismal attendance record in the House, Rep. Pacquiao is seeking at least two committee chairmanships in the House of Representatives.
ABS-CBN News reports that Pacquiao has requested to head two committees as he joined the majority bloc of the House– the Youth and Sports and the Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) committees.
The lone Sarangani Representative is currently the Vice Chairperson of the Poverty Alleviation, Youth and Sports Development and Millennium Development Goals committees.
Earlier this week, the 15th Congress reported that Pacquiao racked up 60 absences out of 168 session days.
Pacquiao was tied in number of absences with re-elected Negros Occidental Rep. Jules Ledesma.
In May 2010, Pacquiao was elected to the House of Representatives in the 15th Congress of the Philippines, representing the province of Sarangani.
