Johannes Songdahl identifed as body found on Mass Pike
Authorities have identified the body found on the Massachusetts Turnpike Wednesday night as Johannes H. Songdahl III.
The Worcester County District Attorney, Joseph Early Jr., confirmed Friday the death of the Norwell man, Songdahl, 22, only stating that victim had suffered what were described as “severe injuries.”
State Police officials added that the circumstances of Songdahl’s death remain under investigation and that the investigation is ongoing.
State Police responded to Exit 10 of the Pike in Auburn around 10 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a body in the highway.
When they arrived, troopers did not find any unattended vehicles in the area at the time and added that there is no overpass where the body was found.
Police stated that there were no reports of pedestrians in road.
As the investigation continued, the traffic was seriously delayed on the Pike. Two lanes of the highway were closed as the medical examiner removed the body from the scene and CSI processed the evidence.
