Pakistan man beaten, has eyes gouged out for allegedly having an affair
A Pakistani man’s eyes were gouged out on Thursday allegedly by eight men over a suspicion of an extramarital affair. The Express Tribune detail the ordeal, confirming the man will survive his injuries.
Police said three men had been arrested and that they were looking for the rest.
A man known by his first name only, Bilal, was kidnapped by eight men while he was working in his field. He was taken from the Shehr Sultan area, beaten and then both of his eyes were gouged out.
The man claims they said they had suspected that he was having an affair with a girl of their family.
Bilal told police that the men had taken him inside the fodder room in the field and had blindfolded him and tied his hands and feet. He said he could hear them discuss which part of his body to cut off. He said when he shouted for help, they stuffed some cloth into his mouth.
He said he felt as if he had been “buried alive”.
Doctors report that the man did lose a lot of blood, but will survive.
