Danai Gurira previews ‘powerful’ season 6 of ‘The Walking Dead’ as Carl spoilers emerge

The Walking Dead returns for a sixth season and star Danai Gurira plays Michonne and teases another “amazing” season for fans.

“It’s going to be very powerful and beautiful at the same time,” Gurira told Entertainment Weekly.

The walking dead season 6 cast banner“It’s going to go into so many different components of very intense and then very rich in human moments as well, but like a deeply different roller coaster from last year. It’s definitely a roller coaster. The pace constantly changes up in terms of who you’re watching, what you’re watching, and where. But at the same time, it’s so unpredictable and so unique from anything we’ve ever done before. It’s just really, really amazing to read the scripts, and to do them has been really, really exciting.”

Greg Nicotero also told EW that the premiere will pick up later in the middle of a big action sequence and then work backwards to catch us up on how we ended up there. Showrunner Scott Gimple returns and fans can expect to be guessing.

Big spoilers below – read at your own risk and take them for what they are….rumors.

The Walking Dead season 6 begins on October 11, 2015 on AMC.

Spoiling Dead Fans already have some details about what might happen in the midseason finale.

In a recent Facebook post, the spoiler-loving fan site revealed that Carl (Chandler Riggs) might be losing one his eyes in the episode, claiming that the horrific scene would be different from how it occurred in the comics.

In the volume 14 of “The Walking Dead” comics, titled “No Way Out,” a huge swarm of walkers infiltrated Alexandria. At one point during the zombie invasion, Douglas — the comic book counterpart of Tovah Feldshuh’s Deanna — fired his gun while he was being overtaken by a group of walkers. Unfortunately for Carl, that bullet accidently landed in his head, destroying his right eye and taking out a chunk of his face.

According to the fan site’s sources, this is how the big moment would unfold:

“Rick [Andrew Lincoln], Michonne [Danai Gurira], Father G [Seth Gilliam], Carl, Jessie, Ron and Sam [Major Dodson] are all trapped inside one of the houses. The herd has swarmed the streets of Alexandria. In order to escape, they cover themselves in walker guts and start walking through the herd on the streets while holding hands.

Sam is grabbed by walkers and is eaten. Jessie freaks out and attempts to save Sam even though it is a lost cause. She refuses to let go of Carl’s hand while doing so, and as she starts falling into walkers Rick chops off her hand/arm.

Jessie dies. Ron gets super pissed and aims his gun to shoot Rick. Carl notices this and makes an attempt to save Rick and jumps in the way. He gets his eye shot in the process. Michonne immediately kills Ron. Rick grabs Carl and freaks out. No idea what Father G is doing this whole time. A couple scenes later Rick apparently goes absolutely crazy and starts killing walkers. Alexandrians join in. This is the end of what is known about this big scene.”
