Mercedes-Benz Kate Upton Super Bowl ad gets mixed reactions

A commercial slated to run during the Super Bowl on February 3 by Mercedes-Benz featuring Sports Illustrated Swimsuit beauty, Kate Upton has drawn a wide variety of reactions from people who have seen the video posted on Mercedes-Benz Facebook page since it was posted yesterday.

In the video, Kate Upton is standing around a bunch of young men in football jerseys who are washing a Mercedes-Benz CLA.

She moves around in slow motion and poses with soap suds in her hand.

On their Facebook page, Mercedes says, “What’s hot? The Mercedes-Benz CLA. What’s hotter? Kate Upton washing it in slow motion.”

Not everyone approves based on a plethora of negative comments on the Facebook page.

One man commented–“This is one of the worst, tasteless and uninspired videos I have seen in a long, long time …”

Another said, “What’s hot ? Certainly not this video !”

One of the harshest comments came from this person–“Well, I expected something more classy, not using a whore to sell your cars, you’re Mercedes, not Chevrolet. Your cars have so much class, don’t waste it with ads like this one.”

However, not everyone agreed.

One respondent suggested that people lighten up a bit– “There is nothing wrong with the commercial. I even find it amusing. Some people just need to get a life.”

And there was this–“I don’t know about all the snobby crap opinions expressed. She is not in a thin white t-shirt rubbing her breasts on the car. She is not doing much of anything except for a brief walking scene and telling the football players they missed a spot. It’s kind of stupid, but is typical of adverts these days. So pull your heads out of your stuck up behinds people and give Mercedes a break.”

And of course there were comments like this–“The only thing wrong with this commercial is that she is wearing to many cloths. People need to quit being so prude”.
