Planned Parenthood’s Mary Gatter caught again on video discussing baby body part prices
Planned Parenthood senior executive Mary Gatter was caught on video negotiating pricing for lungs, brains and livers of aborted babies in a new video, a shocking incident after the years of backlash and response from the The Center for Medical Progress videos.
From the summer of 2015, the video shows Dr. Gatter haggling prices with the undercover videographer, posing as a potential buyer of fetal tissue.
“I did it in LA. I’m committed to it. I think it’s a great idea,” she tells them, referring to providing fetal tissue to researchers. After describing the type of abortions performed at her Pasadena clinic, Gatter asks, “What kind of volume do you need and what gestational ages?”
CMP: Most people now seem to be doing per specimen.
Gatter: Per specimen. Like $75 a specimen? . . . or $50 a specimen?
CMP: What we’ve been quoting is $50 per specimen. I think some people are doing more, some slightly less.
Gatter: Yeah, $50’s on the low end, $50 [per specimen] was like twelve years ago.
Gatter was the medical director at Planned Parenthood Pasadena and San Gabriel Valley in California. She instigated the affiliate’s partnership with Novogenix Laboratories, LLC, one of several biotech companies that purchase fetal tissue from abortion clinics and resell it at a profit to medical-research groups.
Planned Parenthood still refuses to provide records documenting the money they received in total from biotech firms, despite having been referred by Congress to federal, state, and local law-enforcement agencies for criminal investigation. Just this week, Senate Judiciary Committee chairman Chuck Grassley sent a letter to the Justice Department and the FBI, asking whether either has taken action in response to those criminal referrals. He requested a response by May 8.

Under 42 U.S. Code § 289g—2 , U.S. law prohibits the “valuable consideration” of human fetal tissue, but it does allow “reasonable payments associated with the transportation, implantation, processing, preservation, quality control, or storage of human fetal tissue.”
