Alleged ricin letter sender, Paul Kevin Curtis, released and charges dropped; Tupelo man, Everett Dutschke has his home searched

Charges against the Mississippi man accused of sending ricin-tainted letters to President Barack Obama and Mississippi Senator Roger Wicker were dropped today, as former suspect and Elvis-impersonator, Paul Kevin Curtis was released.

The 45-year-old Curtis, who was arrested April 17 for the crime, said he was “overwhelmed” by being arrested  and charged with sending threatening letters to government officials. The charges were dismissed without prejudice, so that they could be reinstated if the investigation warranted it.

FBI investigators admitted that there was no physical evidence that Curtis had sent ricin, a poison made from ground castor beans, to the officials.

FBI agent Brandon Grant believed that the ricin was made by crudely chopping castor beans in a food processor or blender, neither of which were located in Curtis’s home, according to ABC News affiliate WTVA-TV.

At a news conference today, Curtis said, “I respect President Obama and love my country. I would never do anything to pose a threat to him or any other U.S. official.”

“This past week has been a nightmare for myself and my family. My mother has suffered, as well as my children. I would like to get back to normal, which for me means being the best father I can to my children,” he said.

“It feels amazing, it feels wonderful,” Curtis said. “It was overwhelming to say the least. The last seven days, staring at these four great walls, and to not know what’s really happening, not having a clue when I’m there.

Curtis’ attorney, Christi McCoy, said her client has been framed by someone who used several phrases Curtis likes to use on social media.

Hours after Curtis’ release, authorities searched the home of another Mississippi man, J. Everett Dutschke of Tupelo  as part of the investigation. Dutschke’s name came up earlier this week when Curtis’ defense attorney suggested prosecutors look into him, although she did not directly accuse him of framing Curtis.

Apparently, Curtis and Dutschke have a hostile history between one another.

I WENT ONLINE IN AN ATTEMPT TO FIND A POTENT RECIPE FOR Ricin. BUT, IT SEEMS GOVERNMENT “HACKS,” OR, GOVERNMENT-FRIENDLY PEOPLE ARE PUBLISHING FALSE RECIPES IN ORDER TO SAFEGUARD THE PUBLIC. SO, THOSE PEOPLE WHO REALLY KNOW HOW TO MAKE POTENT Ricin WILL “FLY UNDER THE RAYDAR.” THEREFORE, I AM GLAD Paul Kevin Curtis WAS RELEASED; AND, I HOPE THE CHARGES ARE NEVER RE-INSTATED.

PEOPLE, HERE IS THE “BOTTOM-LINE.” SOME SCIENTIST OR NERD WAS CREATIVE ENOUGH TO DISCOVER THAT CASTOR BEANS CAN BE TRANSFORMED INTO A BIO-WEAPON. THUS, NO ONE SHOULD BE ARRESTED FOR Ricin POSSESSION UNLESS IT CAN BE DEFINITIVELY PROVEN THAT THE POSSESSED SUBSTANCE IS POTENT ENOUGH TO DO HARM.
