4 Traits Of a Modern Western Woman

When it comes to the modern western world women seem to be taking a stand more than ever.  Where once upon a time in history women were oppressed and held back from speaking their minds or creating a lasting impression on the world, times have changed.

Recently we’ve seen one of the biggest waves of evolution in women’s rights and there are no signs of things slowing down.  If you were to look at a woman 100 years standing next to a woman of today, here are some of the traits you might notice that stand out.

Doesn’t Feel She Has To Fit Into a Certain Mold

Women have become less pressured to have to fit into a certain mold in order to be accepted by society.  There is more tolerance for everything from choosing whatever kind of wild hair she wants to wearing jewelry or opting to wear sweatpants.  The choice is hers without the fear of oppression.

Once upon a time, women weren’t even allowed to wear pants.  What a change we see today as women are encouraged to be independent and fiercely stand out as they please.  No longer are they expected to be seen and not heard.  Equality is on the rise and doesn’t seem to be going anywhere anytime soon.

Isn’t Afraid To Speak Her Mind

Whether it’s in the workplace or in a social circle of friends women are beginning to speak their mind about what they believe and feel.  Because of the large amount of media attention focusing on equality and highlighting change that needs to happen, more and more women are taking a stand.

No longer are women encouraged to whisper in the shadows about their political or personal beliefs.  They have come into the spotlight and are letting the world know that they mean business in a big way.

Pursues Her Career Ambitions

You may have heard stories of women in previous generations not being able to pursue certain career ambitions because it wasn’t a job believed to be suited for a woman.  However, now you see women not only pursuing whatever career that they want, but many are surpassing their male counterparts by a landslide.

No longer are women limited to only secretarial jobs or positions which are stereotypically suited for females.  There are no limits at this point as to what a woman pursues.  You may even see many of them as the breadmakers while the husband stays at home to raise the children.  Something that you may not have seen so much decades ago.

Supports Other Women

Women are coming together more than ever to support each other rather than be pitted against each other.  There is a general feeling of sisterhood and support rather than shaming or being jealous.
