Zoe Saldana talks ‘Star Trek Beyond’ uniform, ‘it’s short’
Zoe Saldana is just one of the stars returning for Star Trek Beyond and the Guardians of the Galaxy star’s uniform during the reshoots of the film threw fans in a frenzy on the Internet, an issue she addressed while speaking with Yahoo! Movies.
“I do have my stripes, just like each and every crew member on the ship. I’m very happy about that,” Saldana said of Uhura’s Enterprise communications officer sleeveless uniform.
Saldana’s latest Instagram photo revealed the classic Star Trek uniform, full sleeves and all, inspired by the ’60s TV show, is also still very much part of the mix.
“It’s still short. I’m like, ‘Are you kidding me?’ But you know what. I just had twins and the fact that I’m able to wear this little dress seven months later, I’m grateful!” she said.
Joining Saldana will be the familiar crew of Kirk (Chris Pine), Spock (Zachary Quinto), Bones (Karl Urban), Scotty (Simon Pegg), Sulu (John Cho) and Chekov (Anton Yelchin).
Star Trek Beyond is the third rebooted film in the famous sci-fi franchise, which added Luther star, Idris Elba, the villain in the new film named Krall.
Director Justin Lin takes over for J.J. Abrams, who exited to lead the Star Wars franchise, also added Sofia Boutella as a new alien character.
