‘You’re Next’ star Sharni Vinson joins the female ‘Expendables’ team

Sharni Vinson has reportedly signed on to lend her action skills to the female Expendables.

Collider reported the casting, stating that their sources have confirmed that Vinson will be getting in on the action alongside confirmed stars Katee Sackhoff and Gina Carano.

“Action for me is like second nature,” she told Confidential earlier this year. I was an athlete growing up and then acting took over. And when I shot Step Up, it was a five and half month period of intense activity.”

Vinson has taken film festivals by storm and become an instant fan favorite with her role in slasher comedy You’re Next .

The pic is still being put together with Dutch Southern writing the screenplay, Adi Shankar producing, but Vinson’s casting confirms that development is indeed progressing towards an eventual production start-date.

Shankar produced a pair of comic book-friendly short films, Dirty Laundry with Thomas Jane and Truth in Journalism with Ryan Kwanten.  He was also an executive producer on last year’s Dredd.

After several TV roles, Vinson played on Home & Away and films such as Blue Crush 2, Step Up 3D and Bait.
