WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns Relinquishes Title, Revealing Battle with Leukemia
In the opening segment of the October 22, 2018 edition of WWE’s Monday Night RAW, their Universal Champion Roman Reigns (Leati Joseph Anoaʻi) announced that he is once again battling Leukemia. Anoa’i was first diagnosed with Leukemia at 22 years old, and fought it into remission. Leukemia is a cancer that affects the blood-forming tissues, including bone marrow and lymphatic glands. The crowd showed their support with chants of “Thank You Roman”. Anoaʻi left the title in the ring after his announcement and met the tearful Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose on the stage.
