Botches
- John Cena is doing the exact same schtick he did last year leading into Wrestlemania.
- Brock Lesnar not wrestling is still not interesting or entertaining. He’s barely entertaining when he is wrestling.
- Ronda Rousey is and Nia Jax are both clumsy on the microphone, and still WWE insists on putting them on the microphone every week.
Bodyslams
- The tribute to Mean Gene Okerlund made Hulk Hogan and everyone in my household cry. He truly was the best there ever was or will be in that role.
This was the first live RAW of 2019, and the commentary team made it clear that this was the first RAW of 2019. That tells me they don’t think the pre-recorded episode from last week counts either. The product has not made much of an improvement since the McMahon family acknowledged the fans’ disappointment. None of the matches on this episode were bad, but none of them stood out as great either. The Sasha Banks vs. Nia Jax match was probably the worst match on the card, because one minute Jax is throwing Banks around like a rag doll, and suddenly Banks pulls out the win. Jax has such a size advantage on Banks that it just isn’t believable to see Banks get mauled the entire match and then get the victory. The Falls Count Anywhere Match was okay, but did not live up to how good it should have been when looking at it all on paper. Overall this show was disappointing. Although, the tribute to Mean Gene Okerlund was great and well deserved by a legend of the industry.
