Botches
- The tag team match that opened the show started as an illogical matchup and was not very exciting. The payoff at the end was good, but getting there was a slog.
- Lucha House Party and The Revival put on a good match, but this feud needs to progress one way or another.
Bodyslams
- Nikki Cross was absolutely on fire when she appeared. She is the more exciting prospect of the women coming up from NXT, and will bring a new dynamic to the main roster.
- The Women’s Tag Team Championships look great, and their official announcement is great to finally see.
- Finn Balor looked great in two matches, and looks to be getting the push many fans are waiting for.
This was the best episode of Monday Night RAW in a long time. The pacing reminded me of the Attitude Era, and the segments out of the ring did well to enhance the show rather than take away from it. Braun Strowman added to his property damage bill and had to pay out of his own pocket for once. It seems he is being put into a similar position as Stone Cold, with an adversarial relationship developing between him and Mr. McMahon. This may be an attempt to find the spark that is going push him over as the face of the company. Finn Balor is definitely getting his push, and received a vigorous rub from John Cena. With Balor now the challenger for the Universal Championship at the Royal Rumble, it will be interesting to see where things go from here. Balor is without a doubt the most popular man on the RAW roster, and most of the fans have been waiting a long time to see him with a title around his waist. I know that I’d rather see it on him than Brock Lesnar.
