‘Wonder Woman’: Chris Pine excited to see ‘strong intelligent’ woman kicking butt
Star Trek star Chris Pine sounds excited to be joining the DC Cinematic Universe in Wonder Woman. During an interview with Total Film, Pine talked about playing Steve Trevor opposite Gal Gadot.
“It’ll be a f#cking blast,” Pine says of the suiting up as a WWI fighter Steve Trevor in the film directed by Patty Jenkins.
“Patty’s got a tremendous sense of story, I couldn’t be happier to be supporting Gal in what’s going to be the first female-driven superhero film. I think in the world today we’ve had plenty enough of male-driven everything and it’s finally time to see how wonderful the world can be with beautiful, strong intelligent women kicking some major ass.”
Fans have been enjoying the successful Netflix show Jessica Jones and the Supergirl adaptation after failures like Catwoman and Elektra.
Based on the New 52 comic book loir, “In a conversation between Steve Trevor and Amanda Waller five years ago, Steve tries to convince Waller that Diana and the Amazons are not a threat to global security, as they are benevolent. Steve then becomes the U.S. government’s liaison to Diana during her stay in Washington, D.C. and later becomes the head of the newly formed A.R.G.U.S., (Advanced Research Group for Uniting Super-Humans), as well as the UN’s liaison to the newly formed Justice League…Promoted to the rank of Colonel, his assistant is Etta Candy and he has made his feelings and attraction to Wonder Woman clear to her, although his feelings weren’t reciprocated.“
