Wisconsin: Anthony Tong identified as Middleton shooter at WTS Paradigm, injuring 3 co-workers
Three people were seriously wounded Wednesday morning when a coworker opened fire at a software firm in a small Wisconsin city, Middleton.
Middleton police identified the shooter as Anthony Tong, who died at the hospital. Tong was critically injured during an exchange of gunfire with law enforcement officers.
The shooting was at WTS Paradigm, a software company. Three people were wounded by their co-worker and treated at the University of Wisconsin hospital trauma center. The hospital in Madison said at the time that two were in serious condition. Another victim, who was grazed by a gunshot, also sought treatment at a hospital.
“A forensic autopsy was completed [Thursday] at the Dane County medical examiner’s office,” the office said. “Preliminary results of that autopsy confirm that Mr. Tong died from firearm-related trauma. Additional testing is underway at this time.”
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is investigating where the weapon was originally purchased.
Authorities have not yet determined a motive in the shooting.
After the incident, police believed that Tong acted alone and that there was no further threat.
