‘Winter Soldier’ directors set to take on ‘Avengers Infinity War’
Marvel Studios is set to announce that Anthony and Joe Russo have just closed their deal to direct Avengers: Infinity War Parts 1 and 2 according to new reports from Badass Digest. The directors on Captain America: Winter Soldier will take over from Joss Whedon after heading up Captain America: Civil War.
These new Avengers films are scheduled for release in May 2018 and May 2019, but the announcement should be soon, according to Badass Digest.
“There are no writers on it yet, but I’m told that Marvel is in talks with Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, the guys who wrote the three Captain America movies as well as did work on Thor: The Dark World and helped create Agent Carter. Basically it’s about keeping the band together moving forward, with the Russos and Markus and McFeely all being really on the same page and working together well. I imagine that this will become official shortly.”
Rumors are swirling that the Russos are interested in directing a Spider-Man film and the Ghostbusters reboot with Channing Tatum. It’s a little hard to believe they could fit in such intense projects and pull off the Marvel universe.
