Winter Jam 2013 heads to Florida for shows in Jacksonville and Tampa

Winter Jam 2013 makes its south this weekend, heading to Florida for shows Friday and Saturday.

Winter Jam, a massive Christian concert, features TobyMac, Matthew West, Sidewalk Prophets, Jamie Grace, Jason Castro, NewSong, Royal Tailor, Red, Capital Kings, OBB and speaker Nick Hall.

Friday night the stage is in Jacksonville, Florida and then on to Tampa for a Saturday show before traveling a bit north to Alabama for the Sunday show in Mobile.

“It will be the largest tour in the first part of the year,” says Billy Goodwin of NewSong, who has been organizing the event for 31 years.

“I guess we say this every year, but we have the best lineup we’ve ever had. God blessed us as we pull the lineup together. TobyMac, who has toured with us 2-3 times and we love the fellowship with him….and his incredible music,” Goodwin says.

The 2011 tour, through April, had 500,000 or more in attendance, outpacing attendance for all other tours in the first quarter of 2011, including Bon Jovi, U2, X Factor Live, Lady Gaga, Brad Paisley and Justin Bieber, according to Pollstar’s 2011 Worldwide First Quarter Ticket Sales “Top 100 Tour” chart.

Last week the show made headlines as they made over a $50,000 donation to The Union Mission in West Virginia.
