William Fichtner confirmed to be Shredder in new ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ film
While talking about his different roles on TV and film actor William Fichtner confirmed his role in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot. Talking with HuffPo Canada he confirmed he’s the Turtles’ nemesis Shredder.
“I play Shredder. It is cool. It’s one of those things that came along where I thought, ‘Really? Let me think about this for a minute.’ [Laughs] Then I was like, ‘Yeah, OK, this sounds like a journey.’ I’m very glad that it worked out, I’m really glad that I’m doing it.” Fichtner may not be a household name, but he’s a great addition to any movie, and I’m interested to see what he’ll do with the role.”
The film has endured a ton of changes, first rumored that the turtles would be aliens, and later confirmed in a leaked script, then Bay officially announces the movie title as Ninja Turtles dropping the flagship words “Mutant” and “Teenage”. Things got even worse when paramountannounced a delay in production signing the movie being in trouble.
Produced by Michael Bay, the film also stars Megan Fox, Will Arnett, Danny Woodburn, Alan Ritchson, Pete Ploszek, Jeremy Howard and Noel Fisher.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles opens June 6, 2014.
