Why You Should Choose India for Yoga Teacher Training

Yoga, by all means, is a rewarding experience. It always feels great to be receiving knowledge from people who know yoga in and out. Here are the reasons:

  • It’s about digging the roots – India is where Yoga originated. And there is no reason why you should think about receiving your yoga teacher training from a school located anywhere else in the world. Upanishads are a series of Hindu sacred texts those themselves mean ‘sitting near.’ That is to say, you should sit as close to your Guru as possible. Now, this certainly doesn’t need an explanation.
  • Its diverse terrains always make you feel fresh – Starting from sugar-fine beaches to lofty mountains; you can find everything in India. With such a diverse terrain, India really stands out in the world map. So, whether you need the hustles and bustles of water near you when you practice yoga or you love the quietness of mountains, you can find it right here.
  • Cost-effectiveness – Take any western country, and it’s likely that you will end up spending so much for a yoga course there as you might on food, lodging, flight fare, course fee – all combined together – in India. So, one thing that you can be sure of is that receiving yoga teacher training in India is not an extremely pricey affair.
  • Diversions are going to be close to nil – If you are not a permanent resident of India, and you are coming here just to receive the training, then you will likely remain cut off from the rest of the world. Well, that’s actually good for you! You will not just be off the grid but will also leave your work and family responsibilities far behind, meaning better concentration and immersion in yoga.
  • Explore all the diversity – India is a colourful country. And it’s more diverse than you can imagine. And the diversity isn’t just seen in the terrain, it also gets reflected through its culture and people. So, once your teacher training is over, you can take a trip around the country, visiting lovely places. You will be surprised to know how varied the climates and lifestyles can be across India.
  • Bid adieu to ego -There are different hubs of yogic activities in India; Rishikesh is one of them. The lifestyle adopted by people in these yogic centres is pretty different from what you see in other parts of the country. It is simple, to be extremely straight-forward. And when you learn to lead a simple life with simple food, clothing and other choices, you are able to do away with your ego.
  • Ayurveda – Looking for something valuable other than yogic wisdom, while in India? Well, you can delve deeper into the subject of Ayurveda. Ayurveda is a system of healthcare and preventive medicine. Ayurveda not just figures out an individual’s ideal state of balance but also suggest measures to keep this balance intact.
  • For an unrestrained blissful experience – When you stay in close association with yoga, you feel a kind of inner peace. And because the training is going to be a complete stretch of a few days, the inner peace and the feeling of happiness you receive continues. Remember, it’s the matter of ‘mind over matter’!

So, the benefits of doing yoga in India are many. And just because your training is going to be in India, it’s not that your will meet only Indians here. You’ll get people from different areas in the world to build a great connection with.
