Why a Website Is Beneficial for your Small and Large Business

We are now in the Internet era, where everything is available on the web. For the business to be successful and have a wider range of consumers – one must have a website that is accessible and informative.

But what is a website? What is its purpose to the business?

That depends on what your business focuses on and what kind of customers you are targeting. Websites serve as a collection of different web pages that introduce customers to your business. It may contain a Homepage for general information, an About Us page for your business’ history, and a Products page for the products or services you offer.

The purpose of having a website for your business is  mainly to provide general information to your customers about the products and services you offer. Also, it is a tool to use in getting feedback and opinions from your customers. In return, you will be providing them credible answers and information which will give them assurance that you have a legit business.

All in all, your website is the most powerful marketing tool and it is one way to make a good first impression to customers or prospective clients and partners.

Here are a few benefits of having your own website.

Less Expensive and Increases Leads (Sales, Marketing and Advertising)

Once a business has its own website, not only will it get exposure.  It will also give you a chance to gain more clients that will help the business grow. Also, when it comes to marketing and advertising, skip the printing of paper-based ads or other forms of advertising that are costly. Promote your business via social media platforms such as Facebook or Twitter and include your website’s link as a call to action that will invite customers to open it.

Medium to Educate Customers (Two-Way Communication)

Use your website as a resource for allowing customers to know more about your products, especially when your focus is e-commerce. Additionally, introduce key services that your business provides. This is another way of educating the consumers on how beneficial these products are to their daily needs.

Better Relationship + Customer Service (Do the extra mile in a simple way)

Customer service plays an important role in your business and it builds better relationship towards consumers and partners. With the help of your business website, customers can access in a professional way all the information and answers that they need. Do not make a website with a lot of ads or too many moving media as this will cause destruction to your site visitors and they may opt to close it.

Increase of Return-on-Investment (make it more user-friendly)

In terms of sales and marketing, making a website will help increase your business’ ROI. In order to get more customers to hit that CTA, make your website simpler and don’t overload it with information. Putting too much information on your website may overwhelm your site visitor. Lastly, if your website is too creatively done, it may be beautiful to look at but difficult to navigate.

GDPR Compliant

General Data Protection Regulation is also known as GDPR and it is a regulation that enforces data protection and privacy for all individuals within the European Union (EU) and the European Economic Area (EEA). It was implemented last May 25, 2018 for the people in Europe to ‘have control over the data that can be captured and used about them’ such as the customer’s email address or phone numbers. Make sure to update your website’s privacy policy and provide options for your customer so they can opt-in or opt-out whenever they are asked to enter personal information and to avoid paying the fine due to non-compliance.

Visibility and Expansion of Market

For your business to be visible on the Internet, whether a startup or established ones, your website plays an important role in getting potential customers and partners. Nowadays, people are always on their mobile phones and the Internet is often available when one needs to search for something. Your business could have the information they are looking for.

Additionally, the business will be able to expand its market through your website. This is good for e-commerce as the Internet allows your business to be accessible around the world. With this, there is no need to expand your physical shop. More importantly, going online selling is cheaper and easier.

Basically, having a website will get your business more advantage than those who have none. However, there are a few disadvantages that your website will encounter such as:

  1. Your site’s reliability and uptime.
  2. Spam attack.
  3. Unable to reach the potential customers.
  4. Wrong advertising or campaign.

However, this disadvantages are avoidable and will have minimal effect on your business. Lastly,  these disadvantages will be superseded by advantages.

Now that you have decided to create a website for your business, make sure to take note of these tips on how to make it an effective tool. And finally, remember to keep it simple and on-point in order to attract potential customers and partners.
