‘Whale Wars’ season 6 airs, without Paul Watson, who is dodging Japanese arrest warrants

A sixth season of Whale Wars was contained to a two-hour Animal Planet special, Whale Wars: A Commander Rises (9 p.m. ET/PT), without their star captain, instead focusing their cameras on young captains stepping up to face whalers during last December’s “Zero Tolerance” expedition in the Southern Ocean.

“I always say, ‘I’m not a pirate, I just play one on TV,'” Paul Watson says with a grin.

When the Japanese obtained an international arrest warrant for Watson, he was forced to live on the world’s oceans for 15 months. Watson told the “CBS This Morning” co-hosts that the warrant was issued for trespassing and he thinks “that it’s all very political” because he believes no one gets extradition orders for trespassing.

“Japan has taken $30 million from the tsunami relief fund to use, just to try and shut down Sea Shepherd’s activities and so they sent an army of lawyers after us. We’ve been charged with contempt in the U.S. courts, but they haven’t been able to stop Sea Shepherd,” said Watson. “Three ships with 100 crew from 24 nations leave in a week to go down there.”

“They destroyed one of our ships, injured our crew and they kill whales, so if you’re talking about violence, it’s the whalers that are violent,” he said. “We have never injured anybody.”

Of course, Watson also said “It doesn’t matter what is true, it only matters what people believe is true,” so his credibility is shaky at best.

“We need to radically and intelligently reduce human population to fewer than one billion. We need to eliminate nationalism and tribalism and become Earthlings. And as Earthlings, we need to recognize that all the other species that live on this planet are also fellow citizens and also Earthlings. This is a planet of incredible diversity of life-forms; it is not a planet of one species as many of us believe.” – Paul Watson in his article  “The Beginning of the End for Life as We knowit on Planet Earth? There is a Biocentric Solution.” (Source)

I clearly remember reading the many lies of the Sea Shepherd loons , clearly reading this fool’s quotes , he clearly has claimed on several occasions they are not conservationists they are indeed…pirates…he should try and remember his memory loss will be his undoing. Mr.Watson prefers facial and dental cosmetic surgery to actually saving whales..like how many years does it take to stop whaling? his bank account will keep him living the high life with many tasty beef hamburgers in the future.

  2. Orca says:

Watson should be in jail to protect the whales. Why bother wasting space writing about a greedy old crook ? hes a liar with zero credibility.

  3. ddpalmer says:

Actually at the time Mr Watson skipped out on his bail in Germany, there was NO international arrest warrant from Japan. The charges and warrant he was on bail for were from Costa Rica.

But Mr Watson seems to see Japan as the source of all evil in the world of ocean protection. So naturally he has to LIE to put the blame on Japan even when the truth is readily available for anybody desiring to look at it.
