Watch the new ‘RoboCop’ remake trailer featuring Samuel L Jackson

RoboCop has premiered a new trailer featuring The Killing star Joel Kinnaman as the titular character in director Jose Padilha’s remake as Alex Murphy, a mortally wounded cop given a second chance with cybernetic enhancements.

Joel Kinnaman RoboCop photoThe Dark Knight Rises star Gary Oldman plays the scientist who helps revive Murphy, Michael Keaton as RoboCop’s designer and Abbie Cornish as the Murphy’s wife.

Samuel L Jackson will play villain Pat Novak, while Michael K Williams, Jay Baruchel and Jackie Earle Haley also star in the remake.

This new version also seems like far more than a note-for-note remake than many fans may have expected.

The classic “dead or alive…you’re coming with me” catchphrase is certain to rile fans.

Kinnaman compared the film to Dark Knight during an interview.

“(Paul)Verhoeven has a very special tone, but Jose Padilha is a very accomplished director that has a very specific voice and this is going to carry his voice. There’s an element of political satire in this, but the tone is not going to be Verhoeven’s film.”

The first trailer landed back in September – check it out HERE

RoboCop will open in theaters on February 7, 2014.
