Washington state man, Devan Miller spots his stolen van while birdwatching
A Washington state man said he spotted his stolen van while birdwatching five weeks after the theft.
Devan Miller, 38, said the Volkswagen Vanagon was stolen from his Port Angeles driveway Nov. 24 and he spotted it while birdwatching with a friend west of the city Jan. 2, the Peninsula Daily News, Port Angeles, reported Tuesday.
Miller said the vehicle had major damage, with the top and side panels removed and the dashboard dismantled.
The Clallam County Sheriff’s Office said fingerprints were taken from the van but no arrests had been made.
Miller said he was able to start the van and drive it to a dealership, which offered him credit toward the purchase of another Volkswagen.
