Warner Bros seeking Christopher McQuarrie for ‘Green Lantern Corp’ as synopsis confirms Hal Jordan, John Stewart
Warner Bros.’ Green Lantern Corps movie may be too ambitious for the DC Cinematic Universe after the disappointing Justice League, but writer David S. Goyer recently confirmed that the movie was still moving forward.
That Hashtag Show now reports that the studio is actually looking to Christopher McQuarrie (Jack Reacher, Mission: Impossible-Rogue Nation, Mission: Impossible-Fallout) to take charge of the project.
Check out the clip below.
In addition, a brief logline for the movie gives us a much better idea of what to expect from the plot: “Former test pilot Hal Jordan, now a veteran of the intergalactic group of protectors of peace and justice known as the Green Lantern Corps, mentors young recruit John Stewart.”
WB may be looking to cast an actor in the 39-50 age range to play Jordan, so yes, frequent McQuarrie collaborator Tom Cruise might just be a possibility.
A year ago, the details leaked that the “the new version is being described as ‘Lethal Weapon in Space’ and will feature both Hal Jordan and John Stewart. The Green Lantern Corps are an intergalactic police force founded billions of years ago to protect different sectors of the universe. Some of the better-known Green Lanterns include Hal Jordan, John Stewart, and Guy Gardner.”
Green Lantern Corps is currently scheduled for July 24, 2020.
