‘Walking Dead’ star Michael Rooker, Merle, will attend show in Louisville

Fandom Fest announced this Wednesday on their Facebook page that Michael Rooker, known for his role as Merle on AMC’s “The Walking Dead” will be coming to their convention in Louisville, Kentucky this summer.

Fandom Fest runs July 26-28 and already offers a superstar lineup of Stan Lee, the famous Marvel creator and William Shatner of “Star Trek” fame and Adrian Paul of TV’s “Highlander.”

Rooker has been a fan favorite as Merle.

The redneck Merle was left for dead during season one, but has made a triumphant return for season 3. Merle was handcuffed on a rooftop in Atlanta and had to saw off his hand to survive the swarming zombies. While few details were revealed, fans clamored for his return which came this fall.

Now Merle is the ‘right-hand man’ of the Governor in Woodbury, donning a prosthetic sword, nub for a hand.

Fandom Fest and it’s sister convention, Fright Night Film Festival became the largest convention in the area with thousands of attendees and stars to connect with.
