Vincent Jones, Nathan Manigo, men arrested after trying to smuggle heroin and crack in buttocks
Two men were caught concealing drugs in their buttocks in unrelated cases over the past two days, according to police.
On Monday, Lackawanna County detectives found 30 grams of crack hidden in a man’s buttocks after police said he arranged to sell the drugs to a confidential police informant, police said.
Vincent Jones Jr., age 30, was arrested after the exchange and later authorities discovered 30 grams of crack hidden in Mr. Jones’ buttocks during a search, police said.
Jones was charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, criminal attempt to deliver a controlled substance, criminal use of a communication facility, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
In a second story on Tuesday, a Scranton police detective found 23 bags of heroin concealed in the rectum of a city man arrested after police said he tried to deliver the drug.
Scranton Police Department’s Special Investigations Division and the Lackawanna County Drug Task Force arrested Nathan Manigo, age 33, after the drug deal and after he was brought back to Scranton police headquarters, he was found to have 23 bags of heroin in his rectum.
Mr. Manigo was released from state prison on Dec. 21 after serving a sentence for delivery of heroin, Sgt. Gerrity said. Mr. Manigo’s exact charges and jail information were unavailable Tuesday evening.
Jones was arraigned Monday and is slated for a preliminary hearing Jan. 24, according to court documents. He was in Lackawanna County Prison in lieu of $75,000 bail.
