VIDEO: Former NAACP Chairman Julian Bond calls the Tea Party ‘admittedly racist’, ‘overtly political’ and ‘the Taliban wing of American politics’
In an interview with MSNBC’s Thomas Roberts, Julian Bond, the former NAACP Chairman gave his thoughts on the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) probe into the NAACP in 2004, and the current IRS targeting of conservative groups that have such keywords as “Tea Party” and “Patriot”.
In 2004, the IRS probed into the civil rights organization after an NAACP leader gave a speech criticizing then President George W. Bush and the Iraq war.
When asked if he saw any parallels with what the IRS is doing to the Tea Party, et al, Bond said, “I don’t think there are any parallels to what what we’re seeing today.”
Bond went on to say he thought was his right as an American to be able to criticize the President and the government and felt his organization was unfairly targeted; however, when asked about the situation with the Tea Party, Bond said, “I think it’s entirely legitimate to look at the Tea Party.
“Here’s a group that’s admittedly racist, overtly political and have tried to harm President Obama in every way they can.”
Mr. Roberts asked his guest if this scandal might give a boost to the Tea Party.
Julian Bond stated, “I hope not. I hope they don’t get anymore air. They are the Taliban wing of American politics. We all ought to be a little worried about them.”

Julian Bond BELIEVES Internal Revenue Service’s PROBE OF Tea Party IS GOOD AND IRS’s PROBE OF NAACP IS BAD BECAUSE AS AN Afrocentric black, HE AND HIS “ELK” BELIEVE NEGROES HAVE A HISTORY OF UNEQUAL ACCESS TO EDUCATION.
THEREFORE, Afrocentric blacks BELIEVE NEGROES NEED ADDITIONAL “INSTRUCTION” ON POLITICAL CANDIDATES’ STANCES ON ISSUES “African-Americans” CARE ABOUT. SO, WHEN NEGRO PREACHERS TALK ABOUT POLITICS AND DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATES FROM THEIR PULPITS, AN HISTORICAL CORRELATION IS MADE BACK TO SLAVERY/”Jim Crow” TIMES WHEN THE NEGRO CHURCH [AND, NAACP] SERVED AS “GROUND ZERO” FOR DEVISING A STRATEGY TO END RACE-BASED DISCRIMINATION.
