The family of Marcela Franco, 26, made the agonizing decision to pull the plug three days after she was declared brain dead. Her father, Carlos Navarro Franco, also died in the rampage.

Authorities detailed the events as the suspect, John Zawahri, killed his father, Samir Zawahri, 55, and his brother Chris, 25, and set the dad’s house on fire. Zawahri, wearing Kevlar, carjacked a vehicle and headed towards Santa Monica College.

The family’s violent history has been detailed from a 1998 restraining order.

“If I had a gun, it would be over,” Samir Zawahri screamed at his wife, Randa Abdou, during a workplace confrontation on April 26, 1998, Abdou recalled in a request for a restraining order filed five days later.

John killed his father and older brother in the family home before leaving the residence in flames and taking his terrifying shooting spree to the streets. He died in a gun battle with police after mowing down his five victims in less than 15 minutes.
