US skater, Simon Shnapir, draws critics for wearing gun holster during pairs skate to James Bond song
The controversy may surprise readers as a US figure skater’s attire is drawing criticism. What is ironic is that this is not the female’s costume, but the accessory worn by her partner.
Marissa Castelli and Simon Shnapir took to the ice with their music, the theme music from the recent James Bond film Skyfall. Shnapir’s attire caused an immediate uproar seen on twitter.
“This figure skating team is on the ice to the Bond theme song and his outfit is complete with a shoulder holster. Awesome. Seriously” – @brokenhalo
“So just had US pairs skater wear a gun holster (awesome). Bob Costas will probably lose his mind over that one – @jeff Anderson42, alluding to a Costas meltdown over guns last year.
Like Costas, many didn’t find it ok.
“I think US figure skating pairs man is wearing a gun holster. Not sure it sends the best message about America #Olympics” – @inspiredzone
“Leave it to America to do a gun-themed ice dance #Sochi2014” – @TheGradessShow
“I wana know wtf this ice skater is wearing a gun holster while performing in the Olympics…?? You look like an idiot – @heybarkss
So what do you think? Poor taste or just part of their artistic expression and tribute to James Bond?

I find that this situation is really pointless and that they should just get over it considering it’s an English movie.
