Understanding the RCMP Fingerprinting Guide in Canada

In everyday situations, fingerprinting is done to authenticate the true identity of an individual. Like any other country, Canada makes use of RCMP Civil Fingerprint Division in Ottawa to unravel the history and criminal records of a person. Anytime you want to access services rendered by the government your fingerprints will be taken for verification by the Canadian Police Information Center department (CPIC). Not only do they determine your original identity, but they also ensure the same information is shared with other law enforcers across the country.

How Fingerprints reveal your Criminal Record

The RCMP is a governing body that retrieves and determines your criminal record from CPIC through fingerprinting services. All you need to do is to send your fingerprints to the RCMP for certification. From there, it will state the magnitude of your case, where you were convicted, and the charge; in case there is any.

How Fingerprinting is conducted

Your fingerprints will be identified electronically using typical ink on paper. As long as the process is done manually, there is no need for CCRTIS program to fail to accept the ink. You will need to walk into the fingerprinting centers in person or visit nationalpardon.org. Alternatively, you can wait for mobile service operators to do it wherever you are. Remember, you must be in groups of ten or twenty for this service to be conducted.

Card scanning

If you want to enter your fingerprint in digital format, you will need to visit a fingerprinting center to have your card scanned. This offer is appropriate for Canadian citizens who are not currently residing in the country. Interestingly, people who live in remote parts of the country can also take part in the process. How do you achieve this?

You can visit any police station to have your fingerprints taken. It will be scanned, presented in a digital format, and then submitted electronically.

To qualify for a fingerprint certification, you must state your reasons for it. Rely on certified professionals to guide you into making the right decision. You will need your fingerprints taken if you want to fulfill the following requests;

  • Adoption
  • Citizenship
  • Getting a job in the federal sector
  • Getting a job as a law enforcer
  • Getting a job in the private sector
  • Getting a job at the Provincial Government
  • Swearing an affidavit
  • Being part of the Sex Offender Registry
  • Getting a pardon
  • Being part of a volunteering project

Whether you are looking for employment or obtaining permanent citizenship in Canada, fingerprinting is a mandatory activity which you have to take part in. Once your fingerprints have been captured into the system, the authorities can determine your status in the country and criminal record.

Remember, it is in your best interest to go for these services as soon as possible to facilitate all the activities you want to participate in. You can start by walking into any police station to have in digital format. In so doing, you will determine your status in the country and find ways to correct any wrongdoings.
