‘Under the Dome’ season 3 adds Marg Helgenberger, returns June 25

Under the Dome will be back and CBS has confirmed some details, set a premiere date and added Marg Helgenberger to the cast for season 3. Filming Chester’s Mill will again be in Wilmington, North Carolina as the show is set for a big summer, two-hour return.

Additionally, Deadline reported that Kylie Bunbury, known for her role in ABC series Twisted, has been cast in the Stephen King inspired show as Eva. Eva is a beautiful and intelligent woman who comes to Chester’s Mill with her boss, Lucy, in search of the egg. Eva is used to following Lucy’s orders without question, but Eva’s interest in Barbie, which could spark a love triangle with Mike Vogel’s Dale “Barbie” Barbara and Rachelle Lefevre’s Julia Shumway.

Under_the_Dome title cardNorth Carolina’s current 25% incentive program, which is covering about $300 million in production expenditures in 2014 with a cap of $5 million for an individual TV series. CBS received a $8.3 million rebate for $33 million in expenditures for the first season of Under the Dome in 2013.

Under the Dome will return on June 25, with a two-hour premiere starting at 9 p.m. The show will return to its normal time, 10 p.m., on July 2.
