As President Obama takes his campaign to confirm Judge Garland to Chicago, UltraViolet Action, a national women’s advocacy organization is releasing a new TV ad campaign comparing GOP Senators to children and urging them to do their jobs and vote on President Obama’s nominee for the Supreme Court.

Check out the clip below.
Coinciding with the new ad campaign, UltraViolet Action members in Utah, Pennsylvania, Iowa, and Ohio, will deliver giant report cards to Senate offices in their respective states calling their Senators delinquent for failing to consider and vote on President Obama’s nominee for the Supreme Court.
The ad, which has a five-figure buy behind it, will run on national cable and air on CNN and MSNBC stations around the country.
The message on the report card will read: “You’re failing! But you can improve by giving Judge Garland a fair up or down vote.”
  • In Des Moines – Iowa voters and local UltraViolet Action members will deliver their job report card, with a failing grade, to Senator Chuck Grassley’s (R-IA) district offices at 210 Walnut St at 1pm local time.
  • In Cleveland – Ohio voters and local UltraViolet Action members will deliver their job report card, with a failing grade, to Senator Rob Portman’s (R-OH) district offices at 1240 E 9th St. at 1pm local time.
  • In Philadelphia – Pennsylvania voters and local UltraViolet Action members will deliver their job report card, with a failing grade, to Senator Pat Toomey’s (R-PA) district offices at 8 Penn Center (628 John F Kennedy Blvd) at 1pm local time.
  • In Salt Lake City – Utah voters and local UltraViolet Action members will deliver their job report card, with a failing grade, to Senator Orrin Hatch’s (R-UT) district offices at the Federal Building, 125 State St at 1pm local time.
“Thanks to weeks of grassroots pressure, every day more Senators are announcing they will not only meet with Judge Merrick Garland, but also support a hearing and a vote.  But too many Senators are still refusing to do their jobs and trying to obstruct Merrick Garland’s nomination process.  With only eight justices on the bench, the Supreme Court is unable to fully fulfill its constitutional duties leaving crucial decisions that impact women’s daily lives like abortion access, contraceptive coverage, reducing gun violence and equal pay in limbo,” explained Karin Roland Chief Campaigns Officer for UltraViolet Action. “Senate Republicans need to stop acting like children, do their jobs and give President Obama’s nominee for the Supreme Court a fair hearing and up-or-down vote now.”

  1. Alice says:

Time to spotlight…as a senator from Illinois, Obama and 23 other Democrat senators attempted to stage a filibuster to block a confirmation vote on Alito, one of former President George W. Bush’s picks to serve on the bench.

  2. J Woods says:

Good thing Ohioans could care less what Obama wants nor could we care less what this or any other organisations have to say about Rob Portman holding out on the vote for this liberal judge that the nation does not need…next….
