Two new photos from ‘Thor The Dark World’ featuring Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman
The first poster for Thor: The Dark World showcased Chris Hemsworth’s character surrounded by lightning and now two new photos have landed.
Debuting in the USA Today, Hemsworth is featured next to co-star Natalie Portman, who returns as his love interest Jane Foster.
“Thor still has lot of explaining to do, and a lot of making up,” says Hemsworth. “Even demigods end up in the doghouse, mate. So none of us is safe.”
To further complicate things, Foster’s life is in danger, and Thor is forced to bring her from Earth to Asgard for safekeeping.
“So while Thor was a fish out of water on Earth in the first two films (Thor and The Avengers), this time Jane is very much a fish out of water in Asgard,” says Marvel Exec Kevin Feige.
Fans are already clamoring over the next image, which features the Norse god back in action-man mode, brandishing his mighty weapon Mjolnir, and awaiting any the enemy.

Game of Thrones director Alan Taylor appears to be delivering on the promises of a different tone, darker and yet more realistic.
“We were worried about coming across as hokey or whatever,” says Hemsworth. “If there is anyone who can pull off a fantastical world like Asgard with a great amount of integrity, it is Alan Taylor, as we’ve seen in Game of Thrones.”
Thor: The Dark World opens in theaters on November 8, 2013
