Two new ‘Jumanji Welcome to the Jungle’ reveal more footage, Kevin Hart’s ‘cake weakness’
With a great cast and a fun twist, fans are eagerly awaiting the Jumanji reboot/sequel, titled Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. Two new trailers give more footage for fans to soak up, hopefully not spoiling the film itself.
Rather than bringing the jungle to the real world, the real world is going into the jungle with each character being transformed into their respective avatar, played by Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, and Karen Gillan.
Much like the success of the Goosebumps film, Jumanji 2 appears to be primed for a PG, fun-filled family romp and that could be a big box office success. Especially since all of the promos highlight the jabs at video game tropes and great chemistry between Hart and Johnson.
Check out the new trailers below with a full synopsis at the bottom.
Black, who plays Professor Shelly Oberon in the movie, told The Hollywood Reporter how the late Robin Williams plays a sizable role in Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, despite his character’s absence from the film.
“We’re exploring this jungle and trying to conquer the game; it’s life or death. But while we’re there, we find clues left behind by [Williams’ character Alan Parrish]. He built up a full-blown jungle house, similar to a Swiss Family Robinson situation. It’s like he’s there helping us without actually being there.”
Fans will be excited to hear Alan Parrish’s name, a direct tie to the original film which starred Williams.
The film opens December 20th and also stars Missi Pyle, Bobby Cannavale, Rhys Darby, Tim Matheson, and Nick Jonas. This new film is directed by Jake Kasdan.
Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle arrives in theaters on Christmas day.
