Deputies arrested the two boys, ages 13 and 15, on charges of possession and discharge of a weapon on school property and disruption of a school function, deputies said.
Shortly after 9 a.m., a small explosion took place on a walkway between two of the school’s buildings, deputies said.
No students were injured and the bomb did not cause property damage.
School officials considered the incident a serious threat and not a prank, and called the sheriff’s office.
The school was placed on lock down as a safety measure.
One student identified only as Marisa said, “It scared us all. We were on lockdown all day. One of my friends actually witnessed it. Stupid idiotic 7th graders…I don’t understand how they cod be so stupid.”
Back in February a student from a nearby school mixed chemicals and threw the “bomb” into a trashcan, where it exploded. No one was hurt in the incident either.
