Tulsa police identified murder suicide victims: Amanda Knowlton killed by husband, Steven Knowlton
Tulsa police have released the names of a man and woman who were found dead in a murder-suicide. The wife, Amanda Knowlton, 37, was shot and killed by her husband, Steven Knowlton, 23, before turning the gun on himself, according to police.
The Knowltons were found dead at home near 17th and Sheridan around 12:30 p.m. Thursday when police officers were performing a welfare check. Officers say it appears the bodies were at the home about a day before they were found.
It’s unclear what led up to the shooting, police said.
“I really don’t know, there’s nothing laid out, (such as) a note explaining as to why they did this,” said Tulsa police detective Jason White. “So it’s going to take… we may never know. We may never know.”
This is Tulsa’s 50th homicide of 2017.

Tulsa police said the couple had two children who were out of town when the shootings took place. The Knowltons were married in 2009.
